“Paddle to Seattle”

After hearing about this documentary from numerous people we finally broke down and bought it.  It is an entertaining film that has really given us an idea of what our trip may be.  Something we had been debating for a while was our gear selection and after seeing the amount of rain and wetness we will inevitably be dealing with we have decided not to skimp on our dry suits.  Yesterday we bought gortex paddling anoraks and bibs…$1400, the biggest expense yet besides the kayaks…ouch! 
We also have reconsidered our plan to bring down sleeping bags.  In the Paddle to Seattle video more times than not the lens of the video camera was covered in dew and condensation, this on a down bag could prove uncomfortable and cold as down loses it’s ability to retain heat when it is wet.  We hope to be able to borrow synthetic sleeping bags from friends and family.
